There are several different ways you can get involved with the amazing work that Wags & Whiskers is accomplishing. Some are listed below. If you are interested in lending a hand with anything listed or unlisted, please let us know by contacting us at info@wagscare.com.
It is only by the generosity of people like you that we are able to continue this important work, supporting our critically ill community by caring for their pets while the family is addressing their medical needs.
Caregiver Volunteer:
One of the most important jobs for Wags and Whiskers. Open your home to a pet in need that is in search of a great temporary home while their family is addressing their medical needs. As a Caregiver you will know..
1. The dates of service, so you can plan your personal life around the temporary care of an amazing pet in need.
2. Costs are absorbed by pet’s family including medical and food.
3. Unlike foster programs you will know everything about the pet. Name, likes and dislikes, schedule for eating, sleeping, playing, favorite toys, food, cookies, bathroom brakes and more.
4. Receive support from the Caregiver leadership team.
5. Experience the amazing reunion between the pet and their family when they are reunited after recovery.
Caregiver Recruiter Volunteer:
Help us locate the perfect temporary homes for these families in temporary need.
Social Media Volunteer:
Social media is here to stay and we can always utilize your skills in posting, maintaining and managing the social media.
IT and Website Volunteer:
Show the world what you can do through enhancing, updating and maintaining the website and IT. Get creative and make a difference.
Home Visit Volunteer:
The Home Visit Volunteer will help by checking prospective caregiver homes for pet-appropriateness and safety before any pet is placed there.
Photographer, Video and Editor Volunteer:
We continue to experience opportunities that require photos and video footage. If you have skill/equipment or a smart phone and would like to help to shoot photos, video or edit footage we would love to have you on the team!
Administrative Support Volunteer:
Administrative work is so critical to an organizations success. Help out and make a difference.
The services of Wags & Whiskers must be shared to save lives! If you can post fliers in your area to spread awareness, and/or speak to business owners about partnering with Wags & Whiskers, or post on social media your work today could save a life tomorrow.
Hold a Fundraiser!
Fundraisers can be car washes, bake sales, lemonade stands, selling candy bars, door-to-door collecting, restaurant percentages, business donations, spaghetti dinners, or anything you can think of! Call or email us anytime to speak more about this fun and exciting volunteer activity, great for teams, groups, and scout troops.
If you have any particular skills- like organizing, silk screening, or design skills, please tell us about them! If you work with animals in any professional context- veterinary, kennel, trainer, or pet supply- and would be willing to discuss discounts for Wags & Whiskers Caregiver Families, let us know! Perhaps you can support Wags & Whiskers in ways that are not mentioned in this email.
